Media Briefing by the First Minister’s Official Spokesperson - Monday 15 February 2016

The First Minister’s Official Spokesperson (FMOS) welcomed journalists to the briefing and ran through the day's key events:

The First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will be chairing a meeting of the Scottish Cabinet, as well as participating in a public town hall discussion, in Clydebank. In advance of the Cabinet meeting Ms Sturgeon and Deputy First Minister John Swinney launched a Manufacturing Action Plan, outlining how the government will work with industry and with higher and further education institutions to stimulate innovation, improve productivity and increase investment in Scottish manufacturing, in order that it can better compete globally.

The FMOS then ran through key events for the rest of the week.

Asked if there was anything further to report on negotiations with the UK Government around the fiscal framework for the Scotland Bill, the FMOS replied that the Scottish Government was committed to a fair deal for both Scottish and UK taxpayers, and that she would expect there to be further dialogue.

The FMOS confirmed that there would be further meetings of the steel taskforce and that more information should be sought from the Communications DFM desk.
