Media Briefing by the First Minister’s Official Spokesperson and the First Minister’s Special Adviser - Monday 2 September 2013
The First Minister’s Official Spokesperson (FMOS) welcomed journalists to the briefing and ran through the day's key events:
The Cabinet had met in Fraserburgh today in the last of their summer tours. While in Fraserburgh the First Minister will also deliver a speech at the public discussion session, where he will outline the political and economic case for an independent Scotland. This is the final of a series of speeches delivered by the First Minister over the summer.
Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism, Fergus Ewing, is visiting Buckie Shipyard.
The FMOS then ran through key events for the rest of the week.
The FMOS confirmed that in line with parliamentary protocol, no details on the Scottish Government’s Programme for Government would be released in advance of the First Minister addressing the Scottish Parliament. When asked if a holding quote would be released, the First Minister’s Special Adviser (FMSA) said he would look in to the possibility of circulating some words in the Deputy First Minister’s name.
