Media Briefing by the First Minister’s Official Spokesperson - Monday 4 August 2014
The First Minister’s Official Spokesperson (FMOS) welcomed journalists to the briefing and ran through the day's key events:
The First Minister and Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs, are attending the World War One commemorative events at Glasgow Cathedral and Cenotaph. The FMOS also advised that Minister for Community Safety and Legal Affairs, Roseanna Cunningham, will be attending the service at Westminster Abbey and the Lord Advocate is representing the Scottish Government at the event in Mons, Belgium.
The FMOS advised that on Sunday there will be a Drumhead service at Edinburgh Castle esplanade to over 9,000 people, followed by a procession down the Royal Mile before more memorial commemorations at Holyrood Park. The First Minister will be attending.
Rural Affairs Secretary Richard Lochhead is today speaking at the Turriff Show.
Schools Minister Alasdair Allan is undertaking a visit to highlight support for pupils receiving exam results on Tuesday. When asked what information was available, the FMOS advised embargoed details of national figures had been made available to the media earlier today.
The FMOS then ran through key events for the rest of the week.
