Media Briefing by a Scottish Government Spokesperson - Monday 8 December 2014

The Scottish Government Spokesperson (SGS) welcomed journalists to the briefing and ran through the day's key events:

Cabinet Secretary for Fair Work, Skills and Training Roseanna Cunningham has welcomed the first meeting of the National Invest in Young People Group. The Group, chaired by the STV chief executive Rob Woodward, has been convened to oversee the establishment of industry-led Regional Invest in Young People Groups across Scotland, a key recommendation of the Commission for Developing Scotland’s Young Workforce.

Health Secretary Shona Robison is visiting University Hospital Crosshouse to meet with A&E and health and social care partnership staff, ahead of NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s annual review. Ms Robison will see first-hand the final preparations being put in place to meet demand over the winter months.

The SGS then ran through key events for the rest of the week.

Asked whether a Court of Appeal ruling that bus companies are not required by law to force parents with buggies to make way for wheelchair users in designated bays on vehicles applied in Scotland, the SGS confirmed that it did.
