Post-cabinet media briefing by the First Minister’s Official Spokesperson (FMOS) and the First Minister’s Special Adviser (FMSA)
The FMOS welcomed journalists to the briefing and provided an update following the Cabinet meeting earlier today.
The Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, on behalf of herself and Cabinet colleagues, noted their thanks to the First Minister for his hard work over the last 10 years and their best wishes for the future.
The FMOS said Cabinet also discussed the preparations in place for the Ryder Cup and welcomed the next of this year’s events that will showcase Scotland across the world.
The Finance Secretary John Swinney expressed his thanks to all those involved; Scottish Enterprise, the Scottish Government and in particular the local shop stewards at the Ferguson’s Yard in Port Glasgow in bringing about a swift resolution and a successful outcome for the future of the yard and the workers through the buyout by Clyde Blowers.
