The FMOS welcomed journalists to the morning briefing.
FMOS said that First Minister will be making a speech at the Oil & Gas UK conference. In his speech he will say that new industry regulator headquarters should be in Aberdeen. He will also say that the Scottish Government has no plans to increase the overall tax burden on the industry, and commits to no changes made to the fiscal regime for oil and gas without prior consultation.
FMOS highlighted that the latest labour market statistics which show record levels of female employment. At 1,244,000, female employment in Scotland is at its highest level since comparable records began in 1992.
FMOS also advised that £1.8 million has been awarded through the Scottish Government’s CashBack for Communities programme for new 3G pitches throughout Scotland.
When asked about the Telegraph front page story, the FMOS advised that a statement would be coming from Special Advisers shortly.
