Media Briefing by the First Minister’s Official Spokesperson (FMOS): Wednesday, May 13 2015

The First Minister’s Official Spokesperson (FMOS) welcomed journalists to the briefing and ran through the day’s key events.

The FMOS told journalists the First Minister was holding her first bi-annual meeting with the Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) that morning and a news release would issue shortly. The FMOS told journalists the FM would be making a statement to parliament about the outcome of the election later in the day.

The FMOS also said the latest Labour Market Statistics which showed lowest youth unemployment levels since the same period in 2008, had been welcomed by the Cabinet Secretary for Fair Work.

The FMOS also ran through other events for the day including news on the Help to Buy sales, the Accident and Emergency Improvement Plan and the new system for death certification.

Following the FM’s letter to the Prime Minister, the FMOS explained both parties were expected to meet in the very near future.
