The FMOS welcomed journalists to the morning briefing.
FMOS informed journalists that the First Minister was to announce £1 million in funding for the ClubGolf programme, which will encourage more young people and families to get into golf. The announcement will take place today in Gleneagles and forms part of the Ryder Cup legacy.
FMOS confirmed that Finance Secretary John Swinney would open the Parliamentary debate on the First Minister’s Statement, taking place later today.
The FMOS also highlighted that Education Secretary, Michael Russell, was to announce that a Children and Young People’s Summit is to be held. Mr Russell will make the announcement during Education Scotland’s two-day Scottish Learning Festival at the SECC in Glasgow. The Summit will bring together children, young people and those who support them.
