Media Briefing by the First Minister’s Official Spokesperson – Wednesday 25 February 2015
The First Minister’s Official Spokesperson (FMOS) welcomed journalists to the briefing and ran through the day's key events:
The First Minister has announced 1000 job opportunities for young people created as part of a £6.1 million investment during a visit to Castlemilk in Glasgow.
Energy Minister Fergus Ewing is announcing over £14 million investment in Wave Energy Scotland.
The FM will also be delivering a speech at the David Hume Institute in Edinburgh this evening.
The FMOS also told journalists that Social Justice Secretary Alex Neil had announced £1.1m to support and train volunteers while speaking at the SCVO annual conference The Gathering, and added that other SG ministers would also be attending the two-day event, including the Deputy First Minister. She also said that Mr Neil would be welcoming researchers from Glasgow University to their new premises in Bridgeton, Glasgow, at a media event tomorrow morning.
The FMOS then ran through some other key events for the rest of the week, including the First Minister’s visit to Ayrshire on Friday to mark her 100 days in office.
