The Scottish Government Spokesperson (SGS) welcomed journalists to the morning briefing.
SGS informed journalists that Transport Minister Keith Brown announced the awarding of alliancing contracts with Costain and Morgan Sindall to deliver the core physical works on the £250 million Edinburgh-Glasgow Improvement Programme (EGIP).
Journalists were advised that the Deputy First Minister announced £3.4 million investment in science, to support young people’s learning and encouraging science careers and skills development. The SGS advised journalists that comments from individual science centres were available on request.
SGS highlighted the latest retail sales index statistics which show that retail sales for small and medium sized businesses have grown over the past year.
Journalists were informed that the Deputy First Minister attended the opening of the new WWF offices in Edinburgh.
The SGS advised journalists that Richard Lochhead will be speaking at the Scottish Fisherman Federation dinner this evening.
