Recruitment

In Wave 104, businesses not permanently stopped trading were asked if they had experienced any difficulties recruiting employees in February 2024.

Figure 1: Difficulties in recruiting employees had been experienced by an estimated 22.4% of applicable businesses in February 2024 - down from 24.5% in Wave 102 and the lowest percentage reported since the question was introduced in April 2022. The highest rates of recruitment difficulties were reported by businesses in the Construction (39.2%) and Manufacturing (31.1%) sectors.
